EndangeredAmerica, a video produced by the Grassland Foundation (formerly The Conservation Alliance) and featuring Joel Sartore's work on endangered species and land use issues, was shown in schools around the state in December, 1999 and January, 2000. The tour was a collaboration between the Conservation Alliance, Lincoln Public Schools, and the School at the Center Project.

The project, which was funded by the Ethel S. Abbott Charitable Foundation of Lincoln, was designed to raise awareness of species-and habitat-loss issues. The film was presented by Sartore at all four Lincoln high schools, and also the Science Focus Program, the Arts and Humanities Focus Program, and the Bryan Community. The rural schools visited were Abion, Valentine, Morrill, and Crete. While in Valentine, Sartore also gave a presentation for the public.
The video explores the need to protect creatures, whether well-known or not, from the twin threats of habitat loss and human over population.

"It is truly fantastic and inspiring with spectacular photography," said Lois may, science consultant for Lincoln Public Schools.
Lincoln East Sophomore Alicia McCown was one of many who found the video to be a perspective-altering experience. "More people should hear and see this," she said.
