Bob Irvin, Director of Ecoregional Conservation for the World Wildlife Fund (Web site) was in Lincoln on April 25 to deliver "The Northern High Plains: Restoring North America's Serengeti" at the Center for Great Plains Studies on the University of Nebraska Lincoln campus. In addition to his public remarks, he spoke to students at the Zoo School, the science focus school of Lincoln Public Schools and at a noon discussion of business, community and environmental leaders sponsored by the Lincoln based Cooper Foundation. His remarks were previewed in a April 22nd Lincoln Journal Star front page story. The Linocln Journal Star also published an editorial after his visit. His remarks have already stirred positive feedback from a prominent rural education advocate.
